kings and King

“In those days Israel had no king; all the people did whatever seemed right in their own eyes.” Judges 21:25

When a person lacks a king in their lives, they will do what is subjectively right in their own eyes.  The book of Judges recounts a number of failings of Israel highlighting each time they went into trouble, it was at the heels of personal rebellion. Twisting God’s word, His mandates, and His authority in order to justify their own actions and satisfy their own desires.

What it led to was self righteous acts in place of God’s righteous plan. What it led to was sin. They exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever.

Are we living today as a people without a king? Have we exchanged the truth for a lie in order to satisfy our own desires? In all honesty, God is King! This world is now as in the time of Judges.  Let’s not repeat them but repent and allow Jesus in your life, to be King of your life! Walk in His truth and, Not Just Sundays! For He is the Way, The truth, and the Life!

2 Timothy 4:3

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers;
